Ongoing Decline in Corn Prices This Thursday Morning

**Corn Market Update – September 21, 2023**

Corn prices fell 1 to 2 cents early Thursday, with futures declining by 2 ¾ to 7 ¾ cents on Wednesday, led by front-month contracts. The national average cash corn price dropped 7 ½ cents to $4.84. A private export sale of 100,000 metric tons of corn for the 2026/27 season to Mexico was reported by the USDA.

Ethanol production for the week ending September 18 was recorded at 1.028 million barrels per day, declining by 71,000 bpd. Ethanol stocks decreased by 537,000 barrels to 25.683 million barrels. Additionally, Coceral estimates the EU and UK corn crop for 2026 at 48.6 million metric tons, a reduction of 4.1 million tons from previous figures.
