Thiel Macro’s New Focus on Energy

Peter Thiel’s hedge fund, Thiel Macro, reported its first U.S. long stock holdings in six months, showing a portfolio valued at $418.7 million as of June 30. Notably, the fund had no U.S. stock positions for the quarters ending December 2025 and March 2026, indicating a significant strategy shift.

Around 72% of the new portfolio is concentrated in energy and power companies, including e-commerce giant Amazon, valued at approximately $118 million, which represents 28% of the total. Other substantial holdings include Vista Energy at $76 million and Vistra at $59 million, illustrating a clear bet on the growing demand for electricity amidst the burgeoning AI sector.
