Soybean Prices Surge Driven by Robust Demand

Soybeans are trading up 17 to 20 cents at midday on Friday, with the cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price reaching $12.51, an increase of 19 cents. Soymeal futures have risen by $8 to $8.20, while Soy Oil gained 230 to 275 points.

The USDA reported a private export sale of 182,000 MT of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 period, in addition to 226,000 MT sold to unknown buyers. Sales of soybean meal included 200,000 MT to Germany and the Netherlands, with each receiving 100,000 MT.

The weekly Export Sales report indicates that old crop soybean sales totaled 41.95 MMT, a 17% decrease from last year but still 101% of the USDA’s export projection. Accumulated sales for 2026/27 reached 14.334 MMT, nearly double last year’s figures and the fourth-largest for this week in the past decade.
