Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM) has partnered with India’s CP PLUS to integrate advanced on-device AI and edge-processing capabilities from Qualcomm’s Dragonwing processors into CP PLUS’s product ecosystem. This collaboration targets the rapidly growing AI video market, projected to expand from $3.86 billion in 2024 to $42.29 billion by 2033, at a compound annual growth rate of 32.2%.
Qualcomm’s initiative aims to enhance video security and edge AI capabilities, providing improved resilience and efficiency for industrial and public infrastructure. The Qualcomm Insight Platform will be utilized to offer on-site video intelligence and real-time alerts with reduced latency, minimizing dependency on external servers.
Despite facing challenges from competitors, including Apple and Samsung’s in-house chip development and lower-cost manufacturers like MediaTek, Qualcomm is broadening its portfolio by entering high-growth markets such as AI video intelligence. The company’s stock has risen 14.1% over the past year, though its valuation remains lower than the industry average, trading at 14.81 times forward earnings.
