With the job market tightening, many more applicants are vying for these limited seasonal positions. Nevertheless, large retailers such as Amazon and UPS are providing thousands of opportunities this holiday season. Below, find eight companies hiring for seasonal roles and the potential earnings they offer.
Amazon
Amazon is looking to hire 250,000 people across the United States during the 2024 holiday season. Besides seasonal roles, there are also full-time and part-time positions in their transportation and customer fulfillment departments.
Seasonal employees at Amazon will earn at least $18 per hour. They will also benefit from different Amazon employment perks, including healthcare coverage, flexible work hours, and the opportunity to earn a college degree through the Career Choice education program.

Bath & Body Works
- Average pay: $14 to $17 per hour
Bath & Body Works plans to bring on 30,000 seasonal associates and an additional 2,700 distribution center associates for the holidays. Seasonal employees can expect to earn competitive wages; Glassdoor estimates the hourly pay for a seasonal sales associate to be between $14 and $17.
Employees who are hired on a seasonal basis will also have access to DailyPay, allowing them to receive wages before payday, along with a 40% discount at Bath & Body Works and flexible scheduling options.

- Average pay: $13 to $15 per hour
Burlington Stores is set to hire over 24,000 seasonal employees, starting in September 2024. The openings include 23,000 part-time in-store positions and 1,500 full-time warehouse roles at Burlington distribution centers.
Hourly wages for these seasonal roles are also described as “competitive,” with estimates from Glassdoor ranging from $13 to $15. Seasonal employees will benefit from associate discounts and the possibility of career advancement.
Dick’s Sporting Goods
- Average pay: $13 to $16 per hour
This season, Dick’s Sporting Goods aims to hire around 8,000 seasonal employees. They launched a National Signing Day on October 8 to recruit new hires for various locations.
According to Glassdoor, seasonal workers at Dick’s Sporting Goods typically earn between $13 and $16 an hour. Seasonal employees also enjoy competitive wages, DailyPay options, and a 25% to 40% discount.

According to Glassdoor, seasonal sales associates generally earn $13 to $15 an hour. Additionally, flexible work schedules, a 25% employee discount, and the chance for continued employment post-holiday are available to seasonal hires.
Macy’s

Macy’s is aiming to fill over 31,500 seasonal roles in stores and distribution centers before the holidays. They will also hold four nationwide in-person hiring events with dates scheduled for November 21 and December 4.
The pay range for roles is available in all job postings, and seasonal employees benefit from early wage access, a discount valid at Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, plus support from the North Star Relief Fund for emergencies.

- Average pay: $15 to $24 per hour
This holiday season, Target seeks to hire 100,000 seasonal team members nationwide for roles in their stores and at supply chain facilities.
The retailer announced that seasonal employees will earn between $15 and $24 per hour, along with a range of benefits that include free virtual healthcare, DailyPay eligibility, confidential counseling, and merchandise discounts of 10%, plus an additional 20% discount on wellness items.
UPS
- Average pay: At least $21 per hour
UPS will hire over 125,000 seasonal workers for the 2024 holiday season, filling roles that include seasonal and CDL drivers as well as package handlers. These positions are available both full-time and part-time.
Part-time employees can expect to earn at least $21 per hour, with higher wages possible in areas where attracting new hires is challenging.
