On Friday, soybeans saw midday gains ranging from 2 to 4 cents, with the cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price increasing by 3 cents to $11.32. A private export sale of 238,000 metric tons of soybeans was reported to China for the 2026/27 marketing year, and Chinese buyers purchased 10 cargoes of U.S. soybeans on Thursday.
A Reuters survey anticipates that the USDA’s upcoming report will set the U.S. soybean yield at 52.9 bushels per acre, with harvested acres estimated at 84.564 million, an increase of 163,000 acres from the June report, leading to an anticipated production of 4.472 billion bushels. Additionally, the USDA’s weekly Export Sales report indicated total sales at 41.715 million metric tons, down 19% from last year, while new crop sales reached a four-year high of 8.373 million metric tons.
In July, Brazil’s soybean exports totaled 13.4 million metric tons, a 9.33% increase from the previous year, though down from June levels. China’s July soybean imports reached 11.48 million metric tons, marking a 1.6% decline compared to the same month last year. Sinograin, a Chinese state-owned stockpiler, plans to auction 516,000 metric tons of imported soybeans on August 12.
