Soybean prices rallied on September 26, with contracts increasing by 13 to 22 cents. The cmdtyView national average cash price for soybeans reached $12.74 ½, up 22.5 cents. Soymeal futures saw gains between $2.30 and $5.50, while soy oil rallied by 102 to 135 points.
The USDA announced private export sales of 272,000 metric tons (MT) of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 crop year and 206,500 MT of the same year’s beans to unknown destinations. Weekly Export Sales data, expected to show net cancellations of 500,000 MT for 2025/26 soybeans, will be released on Friday.
The USDA’s upcoming report may indicate a yield reduction of 0.3 bushels per acre (bpa) to 52.4 bpa, with production anticipated to decrease by 27 million bushels (mbu) to 4.492 billion bushels (bbu). Additionally, old crop stocks are projected to drop to 320 mbu, while new crop U.S. carryout is expected to decline to 291 mbu.
