Soybeans Maintain Midday Gains After Strong Export Activity

Soybean contracts are rising at midday on August 26, with prices up 6 to 8 cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price is now $11.62 1/2, an increase of 7 ½ cents. Meanwhile, soymeal futures have decreased by $2.10 to $2.60, and soy oil futures have gained 223 to 235 points. Crude oil prices have also risen, up $3.26 per barrel, supporting the bean oil market.

The USDA reported three private export sales for new crop soybeans, totaling 706,634 metric tons: 340,000 MT to China, 256,634 MT to Mexico, and 110,000 MT to unknown destinations. As of Thursday, total old crop soybean sales have reached 41.324 million metric tons, matching USDA export projections, while shipments stand at 38.18 million metric tons, accounting for 92% of projections.

In Brazil, Safras & Mercado estimates the soybean crop for 2026/27 at 180.1 million metric tons, a 1.8 million metric ton increase from the previous year.
