Soybean contracts closed on Friday with notable increases, with September rising by 55.5 cents to $11.96½ and November up 43 cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price also saw a rise of 13.75 cents to $11.45¾. Soymeal futures increased by $2.80 to $3.80, while soy oil futures gained between 11 to 54 points.
Additionally, the USDA reported an export sale of 264,000 metric tons of 2026/27 soybeans to China. The latest WASDE report revealed a 10 million bushel decrease in US soybean stocks for 2025/26 to 330 million bushels, while new crop stocks remained steady at 310 million bushels.
Spec traders have increased their net long positions in soybean futures, adding 37,479 contracts to reach a total of 68,679 contracts for the week ending July 7. Meanwhile, the NOAA forecasts 1 to 3 inches of rain for parts of Missouri and the southern half of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio over the next week.
