Before its IPO on June 12, SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, projected over $1 trillion in annual revenue by 2030, a year earlier than initially planned. To achieve this target, the company would need to grow its revenue from $18.67 billion in 2025 at an unprecedented compound annual growth rate of 121.7%. Analysts currently estimate SpaceX’s revenue could reach $184.5 billion by 2028.
SpaceX’s revenue comes from three main business segments: Starlink satellite internet services, which accounted for $11.4 billion in 2025 revenue; rocket launch services, generating $4.1 billion; and its AI division, contributing $3.2 billion. Growth projections for 2030 suggest Starlink could reach $200-$250 billion, rocket services could hit $30-$50 billion, and AI could rise to $700-$750 billion, totaling approximately $930 billion to $1.05 trillion.
Despite these ambitious goals, SpaceX faces significant competition from companies like AST SpaceMobile, Rocket Lab, and Amazon. Factors such as supply chain challenges and potential economic downturns pose risks to Musk’s optimistic revenue outlook.
