Tesla Q2 Earnings Report
Tesla (TSLA) is set to report its second-quarter earnings on Wednesday, July 22, after the market close. Analysts expect the company to earn $0.50 per share, up from $0.41 in Q1. Over the past 10 quarters, Tesla has missed estimates in 6 quarters but has recently shown improvement, beating Wall Street estimates by double digits in the past two quarters.
In Q2, Tesla delivered approximately 480,000 vehicles, exceeding Wall Street’s estimate of 406,000 and representing a 25% year-over-year increase. However, the company is currently facing challenges with federal EV tax credits expiring and increased competition, leading to concerns about whether sales volume can offset profit margins. The options market anticipates a post-earnings move of approximately +/- $24, or 6%.
Tesla’s energy sector is performing well, with a 40% year-over-year increase in deployments. The company has also entered a 16GW energy pact with SunRun (RUN) targeting utilities and data centers. Investors are keen to see updates on Tesla’s future product timelines, including developments in autonomous technology and upcoming product launches.
