Warren Buffett Steps Down as Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway

Warren Buffett has stepped down as chairman of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRKA, BRKB), marking the end of an era in which he transformed the company from a struggling textile manufacturer into a leading global conglomerate. Buffett has been instrumental in the firm’s growth since he began investing in 1962. He will be succeeded by Greg Abel as CEO, while his son, Howard Buffett, takes over as chairman.

As of now, Berkshire Hathaway maintains a robust equity portfolio valued at nearly $360 billion, with leading stakes in companies such as Apple (21.8% of the portfolio), American Express (12.9%), and Coca-Cola (9.8%). Buffett noted in his farewell letter to shareholders, “Father Time always wins,” but expressed confidence in Berkshire’s future.
