Key Economic Reports and Nvidia Earnings on August 26
On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) will release the Q2 GDP estimate at 8:30 a.m. ET, alongside July’s personal consumption expenditures (PCE) inflation report. The prior GDP estimate showed a growth of 1.5%, while core PCE inflation was at 3.3% in June, both significantly above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.
Later that day, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) will report its fiscal Q2 earnings at 4:20 p.m. ET, with Wall Street expecting a revenue guidance of approximately $104.2 billion and a non-GAAP gross margin of about 75%. Last quarter, Nvidia’s data center revenue surged 92% to $75.2 billion, reflecting high demand for its chips amidst competition in AI infrastructure.
Investors will be closely monitoring both the economic indicators and Nvidia’s guidance to gauge market direction, as a combination of robust growth and easing inflation could provide market support, while persistent inflation amidst weak growth would present challenges.
