Wheat Experiences Varied Trading Trends on Thursday

On August 13, the USDA reported wheat export sales for the 2026/27 marketing year at 393,655 metric tons (MT), representing a 24.26% decrease compared to the same week last year. The leading buyers included Mexico at 105,000 MT and Taiwan at 97,200 MT.

In trading on Thursday, September 26, Chicago SRW wheat closed at $6.82 3/4, up 2 ½ cents; KC HRW wheat saw varied trading, with September futures at $7.62 1/4 (up 1/4 cent) and December at $7.76 1/2 (down 1/4 cent). Meanwhile, MPLS spring wheat also rose, closing at $7.01 3/4, up 6 3/4 cents.

Additionally, the International Grains Council’s monthly data indicated a reduction in wheat production to 817 million metric tons (MMT) and a decrease in consumption to 826 MMT, resulting in a decrease in stocks to 275 MMT.
