Nvidia Reports Major Revenue Surge
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) announced its fiscal 2027 second-quarter results on July 26, which revealed a striking 106% year-over-year revenue increase to $96.2 billion. The data center segment was the primary growth driver, reporting a 117% rise to $89 billion. The company generated $63.7 billion in GAAP operating income and reported free cash flow of $69.9 billion, returning approximately $46 billion to shareholders through buybacks and dividends in the first half of the fiscal year.
Future Growth Initiatives
Looking ahead, Nvidia’s new Vera Rubin platform is expected to contribute around 20% of data center revenue in Q3. The revenue opportunity per gigawatt of AI infrastructure is projected to grow from $18 billion to $40 billion with this new technology. Despite projected revenue growth of 70% for fiscal 2028, Nvidia must navigate risks related to infrastructure shortages and customer return on investments amid significant future spending commitments totaling $366 billion.
