IREN Limited (NASDAQ: IREN) has entered into a $1.6 billion agreement with Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) to purchase Blackwell systems, which feature Nvidia’s high-performance GPUs. This deal aims to enhance IREN’s AI data center capabilities at its Childress, Texas campus, with the systems expected to be operational by early 2027.
Amid increasing competition, IREN is focused on rapid deployment to gain an advantage in the market. Company Co-CEO Daniel Roberts noted that while other projects might not see completion until the 2030s, IREN’s strategy to secure capacity and expedite commissioning is vital in the current AI boom.
