Nvidia Reports Record Revenue and Significant Supply Commitments

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) announced its second-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue reached a record $96.2 billion, more than doubling year-over-year. Data center revenue surged 117% to $89.0 billion. The company reported its supply commitments increased to $279 billion, up from $119 billion the previous quarter, largely attributed to memory procurement.

Management forecasted a third-quarter gross margin of 74%, expecting it to bottom between 71% and 72% in fiscal Q4. Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress indicated that executed price increases would take effect in the first quarter of fiscal 2028 as the company is currently absorbing rising memory costs.

Nvidia aims to secure component supplies for future needs, with about $267 billion of commitments due by the end of fiscal 2029, highlighting the strong demand driven by AI growth. The company’s inventory rose to $31.6 billion from $25.8 billion in the prior quarter.
