AMD Gains Market Share in Server CPUs, Positive Growth Forecasts
Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) has achieved a notable increase in its share of the server CPU market, rising by 7.2 percentage points year-over-year to reach 34.5% in Q2. This growth contributed to a 107% increase in data center revenue to $6.7 billion. In contrast, Intel’s data center revenue increased by 59%, underscoring AMD’s strong performance relative to its competitor. The total addressable market for server CPUs is projected to reach $220 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 50%.
As of 2026, AMD’s data center segment has reported $12.5 billion in revenue, with an annual run rate of $25 billion. If AMD maintains a 50% revenue share of server CPUs by 2030, revenue from this segment could escalate to approximately $110 billion. Analysts forecast an 81% increase in AMD’s earnings per share in 2026, potentially reaching $59.85 by 2030, suggesting a significant upswing in its market cap from $750 million to potentially over $2 trillion.
