**Ford Motor Company Adaptation Strategy in China**
Ford Motor Company has transitioned its strategy in China from local sales to exporting vehicles, leading to a turnaround after six years of financial losses, culminating in approximately $600 million in earnings in 2024. This shift allows Ford to utilize its joint ventures with Changan Automobile and Jiangling Motors to export vehicles like the Equator Sport and Lincoln Nautilus to markets including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Additionally, Ford is establishing a joint venture with Chinese automaker Geely to produce vehicles at a Ford facility in Spain, targeting operational launch in early 2027 with Ford owning 66% of the venture. This collaboration aims to leverage the efficiency of Chinese manufacturing practices, where design processes can be completed in 18 to 24 months, compared to the traditional 40 to 60 months in the industry.
