Anthropic Plans Record IPO
Anthropic is poised for a record-breaking initial public offering (IPO) this fall, targeting a valuation of $2 trillion and aiming to raise $100 billion. This would surpass the previous records held by SpaceX with a $1.77 trillion valuation and an $86 billion IPO, set in June.
Amazon and Alphabet are substantial stakeholders in Anthropic, which recently raised capital at a valuation of $965 billion. Amazon reported a $50.5 billion increase in marketable equity securities due to its Anthropic stake, while Alphabet recorded $99 billion in net gains from its investments, including Anthropic. If the IPO is successful, it could provide both tech giants with additional unrealized gains and capital for further investments in AI development.
