Akamai Technologies Rises to 415th Position, Surpassing Leidos Holdings

Akamai Technologies Inc. (AKAM) has overtaken Leidos Holdings Inc. (LDOS) to become the 415th largest company in the S&P 500, according to The Online Investor. As of the latest data, Akamai’s market capitalization stands at $17.85 billion, compared to Leidos’ $17.62 billion.

This shift highlights the importance of market capitalization as a comparative measure of company value. Market cap directly impacts a company’s tier within its industry, influencing which mutual funds and ETFs might consider investing in them.

On the trading front, at the closing bell on Thursday, Akamai shares rose by approximately 2%, while Leidos’ shares increased by about 1.7%.
