Bloom Energy Secures $25 Billion Financing Deal

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE) has secured a substantial $25 billion financing deal with Brookfield Asset Management to develop power infrastructure tailored for the booming data center market. This funding aims to address the anticipated surge in electricity demand, particularly as artificial intelligence data centers are projected to consume 11.8% of total U.S. electricity by 2030.

In contrast, Plug Power (NASDAQ: PLUG) is focusing on its core products related to forklifts and hydrogen production, explicitly choosing not to pursue opportunities in data centers. Wall Street analysts rate Bloom Energy as a “Moderate Buy,” projecting a potential upside of 35%, while Plug Power holds a neutral “Hold” rating.

Bloom Energy’s approach includes using solid oxide fuel cells to generate electricity directly from natural gas, biogas, or hydrogen, effectively circumventing the traditional power grid limitations. The company’s solutions have gained validation from major U.S. hyperscalers and AI labs.
