Brazilian Coffee Crop Forecast to Impact Coffee Prices Significantly

As of today, July arabica coffee prices have decreased by $1.00 (0.35%) to $287.55 per pound, while July ICE robusta coffee is down $12 (0.36%) to $3,326 per metric ton. This follows a broader decline in coffee prices, reaching 1.5-week lows driven by expectations of a larger Brazilian coffee crop, projected by the Coffee Trading Academy to increase by 12% year-on-year to 71.4 million bags for the 2026/27 season.

Brazilian exports have faced setbacks, with March green coffee exports down 10% year-on-year to 2.65 million bags. Conversely, Vietnam, the largest robusta producer, saw a 14% rise in coffee exports in early 2026, totaling 585,000 metric tons.

Concerns regarding a prolonged US-Iran conflict that may affect the Strait of Hormuz are also influencing coffee prices, as shipping rates and costs rise. Current arabica inventory fell to a two-month low of 494,508 bags, while robusta stocks reached a 16-month low of 3,755 lots.
