Corn Bulls Retain Strength Amid NASS Report of Decreased Stock Levels

On July 26, corn futures rose, with July contracts closing at $4.12 ¾, up 10 ¾ cents. Acreage data from NASS reported a total of 95.343 million acres of corn, slightly above the estimated 95.1 million. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price also increased by 9 ¼ cents, reaching $3.85 ½.

As of June 1, U.S. grain stocks were recorded at 5.295 billion bushels, which was nearly 120 million bushels below estimates. Additionally, 9% of the U.S. corn crop was silking by June 28, which is 3 percentage points ahead of the five-year average. The Brugler500 index indicates that 67% of the crop is in good to excellent condition, down 1% from the previous week.

Data from StatsCanada showed Canadian corn acreage for 2026 at 3.963 million acres, reflecting a 4.8% year-over-year increase.
