BlackBerry Limited reported robust performance in its QNX and Secure Communications divisions for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with QNX’s development license revenue reaching its highest level in eight quarters. The company secured new design wins in areas such as advanced driver assistance systems and medical diagnostics. Overall, QNX remains BlackBerry’s fastest-growing segment, expanding into markets like robotics and industrial automation.

In Secure Communications, revenue surpassed guidance, driven by a multiyear agreement extension with Shared Services Canada, leading to increased deployment of Secusmart’s encrypted solutions. The company reported year-over-year growth in annual recurring revenue and has made significant progress in customer retention across government, defense, and regulated industries in North America and Europe.

Shares of BlackBerry have surged 27.8% in the last month, contrasting with a 9.9% decline in the Internet-Software industry. The current price/book ratio stands at 9.74, significantly higher than the industry’s 4.39. BlackBerry maintains a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), reflecting positive investor sentiment.
