As of September 10, the US cotton crop report indicated that 57% of the crop had bolls opening and 8% had been harvested. The crop’s condition ratings improved slightly, with 36% categorized as good/excellent, up 2 percentage points from the previous week.
The Cotlook A index decreased by 205 points to 96.15 on September 14, and ICE certified cotton stocks remained steady at 38,462 bales. The Adjusted World Price fell by 441 points from the previous week, now at 69.51 cents per pound. Key closing prices for cotton included October at 81.1 (up 46 points), December at 84.48 (down 7 points), and March at 86.99 (down 13 points).
