Shopify Partners with Meta for Muse AI Agent Shopping
Shopify (NASDAQ: SHOP) has announced a partnership with Meta to integrate its Muse AI agent for completing purchases on Shopify platforms. This collaboration follows Amazon’s decision to block Muse from its e-commerce site, citing violations of its Conditions of Use. Following the news, Shopify’s stock rose sharply, climbing as much as 8.9% on Wednesday, with a current increase of 7.3% as of 11:59 a.m. ET.
Since its launch on September 8, Meta’s Muse has seen significant traction, achieving 730,000 downloads within the first five days and currently ranking as the leading free app on Apple’s App Store. Shopify’s CEO Tobi Lütke emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing the shopping experience by allowing Muse to facilitate transactions through Shop Pay.
