Honda Reports Higher-Than-Expected Q1 Earnings with Year-Over-Year Revenue Growth

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (HMC) reported a Q1 fiscal 2027 earnings of $2.18 per share, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 90.2% and improving from last year’s $0.97 per share. Revenue for the quarter reached $38.04 billion, an increase from $37 billion in the prior year.

For the three months ending June 30, 2026, Honda’s revenue from the Automobile segment rose 9.5% year over year to ¥3.88 trillion ($24.3 billion), marking a recovery with an operating profit of ¥192 billion ($1.2 billion). The Motorcycle segment generated revenues of ¥1.14 trillion ($7.15 billion), up 19.9%, with an operating profit of ¥233.9 billion ($2.1 billion). Financial Services grossed ¥1.03 trillion ($6.44 billion), reflecting a 23.3% increase, and an operating profit of ¥105.8 billion ($658.8 million).

Honda expects consolidated revenues for fiscal 2027 to reach ¥24.15 trillion, reflecting a 10.8% year-over-year growth, and projects sales volumes of 15.19 million motorcycles, 2.82 million automobiles, and 3.65 million power products. The company aims for an operating profit of ¥650 billion, recovering from a loss of ¥414.3 billion in fiscal 2026.
