Intel’s market value surged approximately 474% over the past year, reaching around $510 billion, while Nvidia’s market value increased by 24% to approximately $5.4 trillion. Intel’s rise included a significant contribution from new shares, which grew from about 4.4 billion to more than 5 billion, partially due to agreements under the U.S. government’s CHIPS Act. In contrast, Nvidia reported earnings of $159.6 billion over the trailing year, demonstrating robust financial performance with revenues up 71% year-over-year.

Despite Intel’s substantial market value gain, the company reported an $11.3 billion loss, primarily tied to a non-cash charge. In the last quarter, Intel did achieve a 25% revenue growth, its fastest in nearly 15 years. Meanwhile, Nvidia’s financial performance was more stable, with a price-to-earnings ratio of approximately 34 and a trailing revenue reaching $253 billion, indicating a cheaper stock relative to its profits as its market value grew slower than its earnings.
