Nvidia Reports Record Earnings and Returns to Shareholders

Nvidia has announced record second-quarter fiscal 2027 results, with revenue more than doubling year-over-year and operating income rising significantly, while maintaining a gross margin of 75%. The company returned a total of $26 billion to shareholders in Q2, including $20 billion from share repurchases and $6 billion in dividends, marking a dramatic increase from $244 million in dividends from the previous quarter.

Introduced in August, Nvidia’s Vera Rubin computing platform is projected to contribute 20% to its data center revenue in the upcoming quarter, which would represent the fastest growth rate in its history. Despite rising operational costs, Nvidia forecasts a 70% year-over-year revenue increase for fiscal 2028. This substantial growth, coupled with Nvidia’s strategic focus on returning at least 50% of free cash flow to shareholders, indicates a strong financial position as the company expands its AI capabilities.
