The S&P 500 has recorded 12 consecutive quarters of profit growth, with corporate earnings up 40.6% year-over-year for Q2 2026, accompanied by a 14.1% revenue increase. As of August 21, 468 companies, or 93.6% of the index, have reported, with 84% exceeding EPS estimates and 76.9% surpassing revenue projections. The Q3 expectations indicate a further 22.3% increase in earnings and a 10.8% rise in revenues.

Notably, the Technology sector is projected to lead with a 50.6% earnings growth, significantly influencing the overall S&P 500 earnings forecast, which, excluding Tech’s contributions, is expected to rise by only 14.9%. This upward trend in earnings revisions has now spread across eight Zacks sectors, including Finance, Transportation, and Industrials.

The Q2 earnings reporting cycle is concluding this week, with notable companies such as Nvidia and Salesforce set to announce results, potentially impacting the overall market sentiment.
