Soybean contracts experienced slight intraday fluctuations on August 26, with prices rising by 1¼ to 5 cents for most nearby contracts, while some deferred contracts dropped up to 4 cents. The national average cash price for soybeans reached $12.04, an increase of 4¾ cents. Soymeal futures decreased by 40 cents to $1.70, while Soy Oil futures gained 11 to 22 points.
The USDA reported a private export sale of 126,000 MT of soybeans for the 2026/27 marketing year to unknown destinations. Weekly export sales data showed bookings of 56,351 MT for the week ending July 16, with China purchasing 70,600 MT. Forward sales for 2026/27 reached 1.537 MMT, nearly three times last year’s figures for the same week.
In addition, Rabobank estimated Brazil’s soybean crop for 2026/27 to decrease by 4 MMT from the previous year, totaling 178 MMT. As of August 26, soybeans closed at $12.37½, while the cash price stood at $12.04.
