Key Investment Moves by Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway invested $36 billion in Apple between 2016 and 2018 but has since sold over 75% of that stake. Despite the sell-off, Apple remains Berkshire’s largest equity holding. If Berkshire had retained its full investment, the value of its Apple stake would be approximately $330 billion today.
Buffett estimates that the Apple investment generated over $100 billion in profit for Berkshire. The company, which spent about $11 billion on capital expenditures over the past year, generated over $140 billion in cash from operations during the same period. While Apple’s stock price has climbed, Buffett expressed a desire to purchase more shares should the price decrease; however, it has continuously risen since then.
