Corn futures are trading lower on Thursday, with September contracts at $4.48 1/2, down 1/2 cent. The national average cash corn price has decreased to $4.18 1/4, also down 1/2 cent. Export sales data indicated 362,916 metric tons (MT) for the 2025/26 marketing year, surpassing the trade expectation of 300,000 to 600,000 MT, and marking a three-week high. In addition, bookings for the 2026/27 marketing year reached 1.062 million MT, exceeding analysts’ predictions but remaining 43.8% below the same week last year.
Significant rainfall is expected over the next week, with 1 to 2 inches forecasted for much of eastern Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. The majority of the precipitation is anticipated in the coming days, impacting regional agricultural conditions.
