Rivian Launches R2 SUV and Sets Ambitious Delivery Targets
Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN) launched its R2 SUV in the U.S. on June 9, 2023. The electric vehicle maker aims to sell 20,000-25,000 R2 SUVs as part of its expected 65,000-67,000 total vehicle deliveries in 2026, following an 18% decline in deliveries in 2025, which totaled 42,247 units.
By achieving these delivery targets, Rivian anticipates a revenue increase of 38% to $7.5 billion in 2026. This growth would potentially support a significant rise in its stock price, as analysts note the stock currently trades at just three times this year’s sales, compared to Tesla’s 12 times, raising questions about Rivian’s potential to double its stock value if R2 sales soar.
