With nickel prices plummeting due to oversupply, the global mining industry is facing an unprecedented challenge. Angela Durrant, as the newly appointed Principal Base Metals Analyst for Australia at CRU, aims to guide clients through this tumultuous period and the potential long-term impact of oversupply in the market.
Durrant’s return to CRU marks a significant reunion, having previously worked in the organization’s London office until 2007. Her expertise in the nickel industry, honed over two decades, including her tenure as Senior Research Manager of Nickel Industry Costs at Wood Mackenzie, positions her as a formidable asset for CRU.
Simon Morris, CRU’s Head of Base & Battery Metals, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am delighted to welcome Angela back to CRU. Having spent over two decades working in the nickel industry, and over ten years in Australia, she brings with her a deep knowledge of the region’s nickel market and emerging global demand drivers, such as the battery industry.”
