PayPal Holdings, Inc. (PYPL) reported that its Venmo platform significantly contributed to its growth in the second quarter of 2026. Venmo’s total payment volume (TPV) rose by 14% year-over-year, reflecting seven consecutive quarters of double-digit growth. Overall, PayPal’s TPV reached $486.4 billion, representing a 10% increase, while Venmo’s user engagement drove transaction margin growth.

Meanwhile, competitors Block, Inc. and Apple Inc. are also expanding their payment services. Block’s Cash App reported a 31% increase in gross profit, reaching $1.97 billion in Q2 2026, while Apple continues enhancing its payments ecosystem with new features like Visual Intelligence for bill-splitting.
