Critical Week Ahead: Economic Data and Earnings Reports Set to Shape Market Outlook

As the Federal Reserve’s interest rate strategy comes under examination, Wall Street braces for a busy week of economic updates. Earnings reports will also dominate the scene, with major companies like Amazon.com (AMZN), Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD), and Microsoft (MSFT) scheduled to release their results.

The following is a schedule of important market events for next week. Please note that all dates and data are tentative and may change.

Monday, October 28 will be quiet, with no economic data set for release.

Tuesday, October 29 will unveil the S&P Case-Shiller home price index, the consumer confidence index, and job openings data.

On Wednesday, October 30, the ADP employment report will be released along with key gross domestic product (GDP) figures. Investors are also expected to focus on trade balance results, as well as retail and wholesale inventory data.

Following that, Thursday, October 31 will see the release of the usual weekly job claims, the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, core PCE index, and data on personal spending and income. Additionally, pending home sales data will be made available.

Finally, the U.S. employment report is set for release on Friday, November 1, accompanied by hourly wage statistics, construction spending figures, the finalized S&P manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI), and nonfarm payroll data.
